Elaine Marcia, the daughter of Sylvester and Marcella (Karp) Dix was born on October 28, 1942 in Faribault, MN. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1960. On January 25, 1964 she was united in marriage to Richard Kenow. Richard preceded her in death on May 6, 1984. On January 2, 1988 Elaine married James F. Beaupre. Jim preceded her in death on February 20, 2019. In 1984 Elaine accepted the position of Executive Director for the Faribault Chamber of Commerce and held that position until her retirement in 1996. Elaine was a strong advocate for supporting local business in Faribault and was a great resource for many over the years. She was instrumental in the construction of the current building where the Chamber resides today. In retirement Elaine and Jim enjoyed their winters in Florida for many years and lived in Crosslake, MN during the summer months for 15 years before moving back to Faribault in 2015. Elaine was actively involved in many groups and organizations over the years and was honored in “Who’s Who” in the Midwest in 1990-1991. Elaine loved entertaining and cooking for others. She always put others first before herself and was very giving and loving. She enjoyed times at the lake, baking, camping, crocheting and beading. She is survived by her children, Cheri (Jim) Brunner of Warsaw, MN and Bill (Amy) Kenow of Blaine, MN; by five grandchildren, Ryan (Karri) Kenow, Adam Kenow, Jesse (Hanna) Kenow, Andy (Amy) Brunner and Anthony (Laura) Kenow; by eleven great grandchildren, Braelynn, Ayden, Nora, Tenlee, Austyn, Rolland, Shai, Zoey, River, Royce and Joelle; by her siblings, Bill (Karen) Dix of St. Francis, MN, Mary (Tom) Sailor of Colorado Springs, CO, Camy Culhane of Faribault, MN and Jany Sheady of St. Peter, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Marcella Dix, husbands, Richard Kenow and James Beaupre and brothers-in-law, Daniel Culhane and Martin Havel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with Fr. Cory Rohlfing officiating. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to services. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Faribault Senior Living and Moments Hospice for the loving care that was given to Elaine. |
