Subject: Guideline for submitting changes to the online family trees

With the added ability for several of us to maintain information in our family trees, it will be important for us to standardize on our methods for doing so. I have used the following conventions when entering information into the database:
- Places: City, County, State/Province, Country (Default). I include all fields and spell out the state completely.
- Sources: I have begun to include a source for every fact included in the database. It makes verifying the data easier, and I also know where I have looked for this information. There are many different ways of citing sources, I suggest beginning by looking at the list of sources I already have added to the database.
- Notes: When adding or changing information in the database, please add a new note with your comments about the change or conclusions.
- Dates: Using the date selector will keep the format consistant - dd month yyyy. Again, this is to avoid confusion with different locales.
This is a good place to start, and we will need to keep in close contact with each other as we move along.
