Robert “Bob” Kenow, age 74, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2013 at his home following an extended illness surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Robert John, was born on September 12, 1938 in Faribault to Albert and Mary (Valek) Kenow. He graduated from Bethlehem Academy with the class of 1957. Bob was married to Rita Beckrich on October 26, 1968 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Early in his career he bartended at several local establishments and for many years was a truck driver for Murphy Motor Freight. Then in 1985, Bob worked at Crown Cork & Seal in Lakeville for many years until he retired due to health issues. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 889, Faribault Eagles Aerie 1460, and the Faribault Moose Lodge No. 2098. Bob was a big Vikings and Twins fan and loved to play cards, especially euchre and cribbage. Bob enjoyed camping and fishing, and for 18 years he and Rita treasured their time at Lake Sakatah. Most of all, Bob was a people person and loved being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Rita; children, Francis (Paula) Kenow of Prescott, WI, Kelly Kenow of Faribault, and Krista (Dean) Busch of Faribault; 9 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elaine Kenow Beaupre (Jim) of Cross Lake, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Kenow and Donald (Peg) Kenow; and his favorite sister and brother-in-law, Donna and George Becker.
